Terms of Service

Simple, straightforward terms for using Vinylfo.

Last Updated: February 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Vinylfo, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you may not use Vinylfo.

2. License

Vinylfo is proprietary software, licensed to you — not sold. Subject to these Terms and the plan you select (Free, Plus, or Premium), Vinylfo grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Vinylfo on devices you own or control.

You may:

  • Install and run Vinylfo for your personal or internal business use, consistent with your chosen plan
  • Self-host Vinylfo on your own hardware, keeping your collection data entirely under your control

You may not:

  • Copy, redistribute, resell, sublicense, rent, or publicly host Vinylfo for others without our prior written permission
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the software, except to the extent applicable law expressly permits
  • Remove or alter any proprietary notices, or circumvent any licensing, plan, or technical limitations

Paid features are unlocked according to your active plan. All rights not expressly granted to you are reserved by Vinylfo.

3. Third-Party Services and API Terms

Vinylfo integrates with external services. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies:

  • Discogs: When connecting your Discogs account, you agree to Discogs' terms of service and privacy policy.
  • YouTube: When using Vinylfo's YouTube integration features, including the video feed, album art display, and track information features accessed through OBS or other interfaces, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Vinylfo's use of YouTube API services is subject to Google's API Terms of Service.
  • Music APIs: Vinylfo may query MusicBrainz, Wikipedia, Last.fm, and YouTube. Your use of these services through Vinylfo is subject to their terms.
  • GitHub: Issue reporting and discussions are governed by GitHub's terms of service.

4. User Responsibilities

When using Vinylfo, you agree to:

  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Respect the terms of service of integrated third-party services
  • Maintain the security of your local installation
  • Use Vinylfo in a manner consistent with its intended purpose
  • Not attempt to circumvent any technical limitations of the software

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

Vinylfo is provided "as is" without any warranties, express or implied.

We do not warrant that:

  • Vinylfo will be error-free or uninterrupted
  • Any errors or defects will be corrected
  • Vinylfo will meet your specific requirements
  • The results obtained from Vinylfo will be accurate

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Vinylfo and its developers shall not be liable for any:

  • Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
  • Loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities
  • Damage to your computer system or data
  • Any claim arising from your use of Vinylfo

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties or limitation of liability, so the above limitations may not apply to you.

7. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Vinylfo's developers from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) arising from your use of Vinylfo or your violation of these Terms of Service.

8. Termination

These Terms of Service remain in effect until terminated. You may stop using Vinylfo at any time. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue Vinylfo at any time without notice.

9. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service occasionally. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Your continued use of Vinylfo after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
